How do I register for classes?

We utilize JackRabbit, a web-based program for our class registration. You can register online or contact our office for registration assistance.

What should my dancer wear for class?

Each of our classes have a dress code, it can be found here. If you are trying out a class for the first time, please wear form fitting athletic attire.

What if my dancer is unsure about wanting to take dance class?

You are welcome to come try your first class for FREE! Sometimes just coming to class one time and experiencing the fun is all the student needs. This is also a great way to try out a new style of dance.

Are there performance opportunities?

Yes! We pride ourselves in the various performance opportunities provided for our students. Performance opportunities include: Lewis County's original Nutcracker, Dance Festival Northwest, School tours, Spring into Summer dance concert, SWDC Competition team and various community events. 

Do we have to participate in performances?

No. You are welcome to take our classes without performing, but you should know every class will focus on learning a dance for our end of the year recital.

What if my dancer misses a class?

Dancers are welcome to make up any classes they miss. The make up class should be a similar leveled class.

What benefits will my child gain from dance class?

Dance class is a great way to build confidence and skill. Dancers are challenged at each level to improve all while having fun surrounded by friends. Dance helps to increase flexibility and strength.

Why should my dancer take class at SWDC?

Our dance instructors bring to this community over 100 years of professional training. Their passion for dance and helping grow our individual dancers is second to none. We pride ourselves in offering original Lewis County productions and opening doors to recreational and pre-professional opportunities. We are a family-friendly community offering up and coming dance technique.

What if we cannot afford dance, but want to take class?

SWDC has limited scholarships available for those in need of financial support. We believe dance is for everyone and through generous donations throughout the year, we are able to support those in need of additional support.herehere
